"Don't judge anyone else's pain as less than your own."

- a principle from the National Alliance on Mental Illness

Hi. I'm Aaron, and I was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2005.

Life with this illness is like nothing else. It's difficult to describe accurately, and sometimes more difficult just to live it.

I am publicly disclosing my diagnosis and how I have coped with it. My hope is to inspire others who feel like giving up or who are confused or concerned about having a mental illness.

I'm not perfect, and I'm not an absolute expert. But I believe I carry insight I'm meant to share. I've been around the block a bit - please ask me anything that's on your mind.

Good luck and remember: Don't give up the ship.
